Presidential Election Year 2008
Here it is November 2007 and we are just one year from electing a new president. The two main parties are battling internally over who will be their respective party’s nominee. But as far as the average working men & women are concern, it will really make no difference who wins the nomination or the presidency. All we get to do is participate in the actual voting process. After that it will be all about protecting the winning administration and rewarding the powerhouses that got them elected.
When you think about it, there really are four parties in the running; two sets of Democrats and two sets of Republicans. On both left and right there are the extremes and the more conservatives. The current administration, being extreme right, has demonstrated that separation very well. They have made it clear to all Republicans that they are either with them or against them. And those who are not on the extreme right are considered to be against. Just another one of the many examples of the arrogance of the current administration.
Both parties will have their respective public relations loud mouths blasting full volume on television, radio, and newspapers. RPBN (Republican Party Broadcast Network), more commonly known as Fox “News”, will most definitely be the leader of the pack. CNN will have there segments of Democrat loud mouths. And it would take pages to list all the radio programs & newspapers and which party each are supporting.
There are those that would say a person who labels one of these sources is indeed themselves biased. But what are biases? For the purposes of politics, I have placed biases into two categories. One is when certain parts of the truth, or one side of a story, are deliberately left out in an effort to promote an objective. The other is when the truth is totally ignored, or lies are substituted for the truth. An example of the first category comes from our legal system. Any person who is sworn in as a witness in a court of law is sworn to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Anyone who has ever witnessed this process in real life knows that the witness is never allowed to tell the whole truth. He is only allowed to tell the part of the truth that supports who is currently questioning him. Another example of the first is when a person is deliberately quoted out of context. No example is required here for the second category. It is self explanatory. Truth is truth and lies are lies. Therefore, when a person says that one who labels sources are themselves biased is referring to a person who is not interested in the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. And in the case of our presidential election I, for one, am not interested in party bashing as so many do. I want to hear the whole truth about both parties; both good and bad. Period. If you are willing to point out the truth about a candidate, regardless of which party they are affiliated with, then I want to hear what you have to say.
I will tell you that I considered myself neither Democrat nor Republican. Although I haven’t kept up with it exactly, I have pretty much split my vote over the past 35 years. I can assure you that I have never voted a straight ticket. So during the campaigning for the 2008 presidential election, I intend to post as many examples of the biases and lies on this blog as I can find. I may be the only one who reads them, but they will be posted. And I am sure if anyone does read my post, they will take issue with some depending on their party affiliation and/or biases.
You will not be able to post any comments on this page but you can leave comments on individual post by going to any topic or category on the right side bar.
