The Facts
A recent unscientific survey by a major news channel resulted in 95 percent of the voters saying “yes” to the question “Do you believe now is the time for an Independent candidate who will represent the needs of the American people and not pander to special interests?”
My View
I realize that this was not a scientific survey, but wouldn’t it be interesting to see one, and one that didn’t just cover a “sampling” of the population? I think most everyone would agree that the key to such a majority saying yes was the part about “not pander to special interests”. Just a few minutes ago I saw on the news a report that Wal-mart had increased their budget for lobbying money from $1 million a year to over $2 million a year for lobbyist to lobby for legislation that would favor Wal-mart. Don’t you wish you could lobby the person you voted for to pass legislation that would favor you? I suppose the most amazing part of this is that the public is so accustom to this kind of raping of American that big business and the law makers don’t care anymore that the public is aware of this criminal practice. It’s all about money, which equals power. More than the fact that they do it, it’s the arrogance of their attitude that makes me so mad. They’re arrogant because they know we won’t do anything about it; not that we can’t, but that we won’t!
I foresee a day when the arrogance will become so great that there will be a sudden uprising of the American people that will happen so fast that no one will even see it coming. It will happen as quickly and unexpectedly as 911 happened. Unfortunately for us, our children, and our grandchildren it will be the end of the United States. Within three months America will not even be recognizable. I certainly am not advocating this and pray with all my heart it will never happen. However, I believe it will happen. Our elected officials feel they have become untouchable. And when people get to that point, they will not limit themselves to what they do. They will just keep moving the mark further out until disaster stops them, because they have no discipline or morals. They have become uncontrollable except by those with more power and more money than they have. When America falls and by some unlikely quirk of nature, another “America” comes out of the ashes, it will be interesting to see how the “constitution” is worded. It obvious that the one we have now means nothing to the power mongers.
