Obama Resorts To Hypocrisy Over Rev. Wright

The Facts

Barack Obama now says that had Rev. Jeremiah Wright not resigned from his church that he, Obama, would have left the church. This is part of an interview with Obama that will be airing today, Friday 28, 2008.

My View

For weeks Barack Obama has been hammered about his association with Wright and his church. Obama has been asked again and again why he would continue to attend and support a church whose leader ranted racist comments and seemed to be supporting Hamas. Each time Obama addressed these questions his general comment was if that was all he knew about Trinity United Church and Reverend Wright he would have left. However, it appears now that he has suddenly acquired a conscious. After all the defending of Wright by trying to explain his comments and why he said it, Obama now seems to be saying he should not have stayed. This is blatant hypocrisy at best; when you find out you are about to loose the presidency by association, just changed your mind about how you feel or what you should have done.

On another note, it now seems that Obama’s church is so grateful for Wright’s leadership that they are building him a retirement home that has the appearance of costing $10 million. Therefore, if the members who give their financial support to the church are in agreement with this kind of expenditure, then one must assume they agree with Wrights racist views, and with his supporting terrorist groups who want to overthrow America. Is this another example of politically correctness being abused and misused?
